Super Food combinations to keep you healthy

Healthy body is God’s best gift to a human being. It is well said “Healthy mind resides in a Healthy Body “. Moreover, in order to cope up with the present competitive world , where at every stage we have to prove ourself undergo stress, anxiety, frustrations etc acheving a good health is our utmost priority. This can be done by taking good (healthy) food, doing workouts, being early to bed and early to rise. Even combing some of your favourite foods to eat at the same time can help you in geting the best health benefits.

Following are some tips -

- EGGS AND ORANGE JUICE  – Breakfast favorites – Help ward off Anaemia .

Eggs contain iron, a nutrient that keeps blood healthy. Women’s generally don’t get enough of it – 40 % of 19-34 years old have low intakes  and are at the risk of developing anaemia , which causes tierdness, poor concentration and breathlessness. citrus  fruits are packed with vitamin C , which help the body to absorb two  to three times more iron from eggs. And more the vitamins you have , the more iron you will absorb – so don’t be afraid to have a large glass of orange juice with your eggs.

- SALAD AND AVOCADO _ the side dish – Protect against Heart diseases, Cancer and Eye problems.

Watercress, rocket and spinach contaion antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin, which helps in keeping the eye healthy,prevents blindness. Peppers and carrots are rich in betacarotene , which lowers the risk of cancer and heart diesase. But the body needs fat to absorb these antioxidant – and that’s where avocado can help. One US study showed that adding an avocado to a salad of carrot, luttuce and spinach meant 15 times more betacarotene and five times more lutein were absorbed than when the salad was eaten on its own. Plus, avocado contain the right sort of heart-healthy mono- unsaturated fats.

- FRUIT SALAD AND LOW – FAT YOGHURT - Help lower High Blood Pressure.

Research in the late 1990′s revealed that simply adding more fruit and veg to our diet helps to prevent high blood pressure. Scientist looked at the effects a diet rich in fruit and veg had. After two months, adults who ate 8 to 10 serving to fruit and veg every day saw a significant drop in blood pressure.

- TEA AND LEMON – Lower Heart disease and Cancer.

Green and black tea are packed with naturally occurring  plant compounds called flavonoids , which have been linked in protecting heart diseases and some cancer including cancer of lungs, breasts and ovaries. In particular Green tea is rich source or a flavonoid called catechin. However ,research have shown that only a fifth of it remains after digestion. Scientist fron Indiana have discovered that adding lemon juices cause 80 % of hte catechin in tea to remain. the scientist believe that the vitamin C in lemons stops catechin from breaking down. The same is applicable for black tea as it contain lower level of catechin.

- ROAST PORK AND BRUSSELS SPROUTS - Help fight Cancer.

Roast pork is a good source of mineral selenium, which act as a cancer fighting antioxidant in the body. Selenium in roast pork is increased 13 times when combined with another cancer  busting ingredient called sulforaphane found in green veg such as brussels sprouts, brocoli and cabbage.

- SALSA AND BROCCOLI – Prevent Prostrate Cancer.

both these food are recoginsed for their cancer- fighting abilities but together the effects are even greater.When broccoli is given to rats with prostrate cancer , the tumour decreased by 42 % .Tomatoes shrunk the turmours by 32 %. But when broccoli and tomato given togethr it reduced the size of turmours by 52 %. but its important to prepare your veggies properly. the antioxidants in tomatoes become more concerated when cooked into a sauce or salsa, making them better than fresh. But the antioxidant inbroccoli are reduced if over-cooked, so it’s better raw or lightly steamed.
