How To Prevent and Remove Blackheads – Blackhead Removal

If you are someone who has an extremely oily skin, you are well aware of the painstaking task to remove blackheads or continuously trying to prevent blackheads forming.

Faced with dust and pollution, dirt forming a layer on your skin can clog your pores and form white heads. Negligence in your skin care routine on a daily basis or monthly facials can turn these while heads into blackheads which look quite prominent on the face and ugly.Removing such blackheads becomes mandatory to keep your skin look young, vibrant and fresh.

To keep your skin looking smooth and blackheads free, follow the steps mentioned below.

Cleanse Your Skin
Follow a good daily routine for your skin. Washing your face twice a day is of utmost important.
Wash your face before going out and use a good moisturizer with SPF to protect your skin. Follow the procedure of cleansing using a foaming cleanser, tone with a mild toner and use a good moisturizer cream before your sleep. Do not go to sleep without cleansing your face or it will result in blocked pores and hence blackheads. Added to this, exfoliate your skin twice a week to remove dead cells from accumulating on your face. Do not do this daily as it can make your skin extremely dry by stripping away the natural oils.

Remove Blackheads
If you have spotted a few blackheads already, it’s time to clean your pores. You can use a pair of tweezers or a blackhead remover to do the task. You can use a hot towel on the face or expose your face to hot water steam which will make the blackhead removal easier. Tweeze it by squeezing around the blackhead or apply pressure around it by using a blackhead remover. Use alcohol wipes or tee tree oil (melaleuca oil) wipes or wash your face with an antibacterial soap to close your pores and prevent it turning into a blister.

Keep your hair off your face
If you have oily skin, don’t add to it by oiling your hair and letting it be. If you must oil your hair, do so two hours before your head bath. Oily hair left long time can see the oil seeping down on to the face and shoulders and can cause ache and blackheads. Keep your hair away from your face by pinning it back or using a head band to keep your fringe or bangs away. Hair playing over your face causes blocked pores by adding more dirt from hair to face. If you can, we suggest you grow out the short hair framing your face to prevent blackheads.

Cleansing Masks
Using daily cleansing masks can prevent blackheads as it provides deep cleansing of the pores and removes dirt embedded inside. Also, applying cleansing daily removes excess oil from the skin which can hold on to dirt and dust and automatically keep skin blemish free.

I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences of removing blackheads. Please leave me a comment and let me know.
